Speedwatch Initiative

The Parish Council has been contacted by PC James Phillips, who is inquiring whether residents would be interested in participating in a Community Speedwatch initiative.

This program requires a team of local residents who are willing to volunteer a small amount of time each week.

Volunteers will receive speed detection equipment to monitor vehicle speeds. When vehicles exceed the speed limit, the registered keepers will be contacted initially through a letter explaining the potential risks and consequences of their dangerous behaviour. Repeat offenders will receive a visit from the local police, regardless of their location. Beyond these friendly gestures, focused enforcement and criminal prosecution may follow based on the collated evidence.
